The idea

Each planet page shows one world. This page shows all of them at once — every modelled colour in the catalog, plotted together, so the patterns physics carves into the whole population become visible.

Honesty

Every colour here is a modelled prediction, not a photograph — the same swatches as the gallery, computed from each planet's reflected-light spectrum.

The spectrum of worlds

Temperature × brightness

Each dot is a planet, drawn in its own colour: left–right is how hot it is (), up–down is how much of its star's light it reflects (). The clusters are chemistry, not chance — cold keep their and reflect blue-green; temperate worlds wear bright water clouds; the hottest are cloud-free and dark, tinted deep blue by ; orange dots are worlds around small red stars, tinted by their star's own light.

How much colour survives Roman

The 's sees visible light in only four , so it recovers an approximation of each planet's colour. ("delta-E") measures how far that approximation lands from the full-spectrum colour, in units of human perception: below ~2 the eye can't tell the difference, around 10 it reads as a clearly different shade, beyond 20 it's a different colour altogether.
